Thank You!

To all of our wonderful supporters, fans and clients, thank you! Seriously, thank you. We are so blessed to have this business we love and for me, Louise, to be able to stay at home and be with our boys.

We had a great year and are really looking forward to 2012 on a business and personal level. We are rejuvenated and excited to get back at it. We look forward to continuing to grow and learn and look forward to seeing what photographs we will take this year:)

The last few months personally have been quite full and fun. I have four sisters and all five of us were pregnant at the same time!
(I'm second from the left)
We celebrated Christmas with our two beautiful boys. The youngest, Koen, will be three years old on January 2nd! How did that happen so quickly?!
I was able to support my youngest sister in the birth of her first child, Hannah, on Dec. 24th. It was beautiful.
Here is baby Hannah at 4 days old. I'm looking forward to taking more photos of her this week:) And also, I'm excited to meet my 3 other nieces or nephews throughout 2012!
And finally, as we look ahead this year, we are so excited about our own little baby on the way. Baby Chapman is due May 28th (our anniversary!) and we are so thankful for this little (likely to be big) bundle.

Thank you for your encouragement and kind words, it means so much to me (and us!). I hope you had a wonderful 2011 and all the best to you in 2012.
Love,
Louise and Gary

Baby Tyler | Newborn Studio Session

This was my last session of 2011 and it was just a mini one for baby Tyler.  Tyler's big sister, Michaely, is only 14 months older than him so it was a bit chaotic:)   Isn't Tyler's hair adorable?!  My kids were pretty much bald until they were one so I'm a big fan of all that newborn hair.   I took a bunch of photos of the family but I will just post a few photos here as I'm ready for my 2 week break!  Enjoy:)

Jackie & Tyler | Maternity Session

Jackie is my second youngest sister and is due in just two weeks. I'm so excited for Jackie and Tyler, and I know, based on the evidence of watching them with my two monkey boys, that they will be wonderful parents. As a side note, in case you didn't know, I have four sisters and all five of us are pregnant! Fun times:)

Jackie and Tyler weren't sure if they wanted maternity photos but I'm glad I bugged them a time or two because I love the pictures we got of them. We started with a few in studio but due to the fact that these two are adventurous nature lovers, we went to the great outdoors where we got the majority of great shots.

As you can probably see from the interactions in the photos, these two have a very natural, comfortable, and beautiful relationship. They know each other so well and they have a lot of fun together. Enjoy:)

{This might sound weird, but I love how Jackie's hair is complimented by the grass. Also, I know there are a lot of similar looking pictures but I loved so many of them and there are so many more:)}

{Aren't they so cute?!}

{So glad we could spend this time together. I am sooooo looking forward to meeting your little one and see you go from not only husband and wife, but to father and mother!}

Lauren, Olivia & Claire | Family Session

I loved this mini session. Why? The whole family is beautiful, inside and out. I have photographed them a few times over the year and look forward to it every single time. It was raining and cold but they went ahead with smiles on their faces the whole time. Kristin and Dave made the beautiful `JOY' letters which are for their Christmas card and I know there's a lot of JOY throughout this post but I love so many of them:)

EnJOY:)

Renee & David | Engagement Session

I had such a good time on this engagement session. Mostly because it was a great time to catch up with Renee and get to know her fiance, David (who is also a photographer!). I taught Renee back when she was in grade 8 and this group was a special one to me as I've known them the longest and they were so welcoming to me as I came in halfway through the year. That year was also when Gary and I got married:)

David and Renee have been dating for 4 years and the proposal was totally unexpected (which I love!). These two enjoy playing crib together and so at the end of a long day, they had dinner and then David suggested playing a game of crib. David dealt the cards and went to the cupboard to get a `drink' (the ring!). Renee may have seen the ring before she saw the hand she was dealt so David told her to look at her cards...
{I love the originality of that proposal! It sounds like Renee was pretty shocked:)}

{After an outfit change, we walked over the bridge to Brae Island. I know now that I don't have to worry about Renee complaining that it's too cold on her wedding day, she is a tough girl.}

Renee and David, it was so great to spend time with you as a couple. You two are so comfortable with each other and I can see that you work well as a team. I have a feeling that all this wedding planning is going to be just fine as you are super organized:) Looking forward to your fall wedding in 2012!

Three Boys | Family Studio Session

I know I haven't been posting as much lately, I'm sort of recovering from the wildness of October still:) I will have a couple new posts this week and one of them will be a pretty cool personal one!

Here is a mini session with three little guys (and their parents) that we go to church with. They are buddies with my boys and adorable as ever in their Christmas sweaters. So cute!

Happy December, everyone!

Brothers | Fort Langley Session

These were taken on a sunny (but cold!) day in November, awesome! Jas (their mom) contacted me about having a few pictures taken of her boys together. The younger one was going to be getting braces a week after this session so she wanted some photos done before that. Arjun and Navin were so well behaved and respectful, I can only hope my boys respond to photos so well at that age!
It was just a mini session and here are some photos of two handsome young men...

It was nice to meet you all! Next time, mom and dad, you might need to get in some photos too:)

Amy | Family Studio Session

Amy visited our studio last year when she was just 3 months old and look at her now:) She still has those big beautiful blue eyes and a smile that can just melt you. Amy is a vocal little girl who knows what she does want (to ride on toys or have shoulder rides) and does not want (to get changed or sit down with mom and dad)! Here are just a couple of photos from our mini session together...

Neil and Carlie, it was great to see you again. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas together as a family!

Trish at 35 Weeks | Maternity Session

I did a mini session for my little sister about a month ago and you can check it out here. Then, this past weekend I had another mini session with her and her husband Steve. Being that Steve LOVES photos so much (note sarcasm) we limited it to just 20 minutes. The priority was hands on belly. Check! Also, just like their wedding day, Steve had some good injuries to his fingers, but nothing that photoshop can't fix:) And yes, there were a lot of pictures with the white background but I'm a little partial to the black background ones so those are the ones I will post for now...

Steve and Trish, I'm totally looking forward to meeting my little niece!!

Caleb & Keenan | Port Moody Family Photos

I met this beautiful family about three years ago and this is my third time photographing them. You can see the last ones here. I always enjoy catching up with Jonathon and Elise and just seeing how the boys have grown and changed.

We met up at Old Orchard Park in Port Moody and walked to the cool old Mill Site there. Unfortunately it was pretty cold which made little Keenan a little unhappy. We did get some smiles out of him though and here are some photos from our time together:)

Jonathon and Elise, you are such patient and loving parents with two beautiful kids. Always great to see you!

Angie & Steve | Deer Lake Engagement Session

Angie and Steve had the perfect fall weather for their engagement session at the end of October. It was a great way to get to know them better as their April wedding isn't that far off! They were a bit nervous about their session, which is so normal, but I think they did such a great job!

Angie and Steve actually went to high school together and were in the same art class. Steve always got in trouble for talking with her because he wasn't as good at multitasking:) They didn't meet up again until years later and look where they are now! All the best to you two as you prepare for your wedding in 2012!
