12 Children | Fort Langley Extended Family Session

Yes, you read the title correctly.  This awesome family has 12 kids.  Add in some spouses and some grandkids and so far they are up to 21!  I am one of 5 girls so I can definitely say that although a big family can be tough at times, it is so fun.  Especially as we are adults now, it's so special and I can see that with this family too.  They meet every Sunday for dinner so we met just beforehand to capture some updated family photos.  What a great family, seriously, they were such a pleasure to be with!  Non stop smiles all around.  Talking about smiles, let's start with Jake:)  So cute!
{And the other three grandkids; Kayleigh, Sophia and James}
{Mom with her 7 daughters and then dad with his 5 sons.}
{Please note little Jake had his mom hiding behind the girls holding on to him...safety first!}
It was such a pleasure to meet you all.   I imagine that your family dinners are so special and a tad bit wild.  I hope that tradition continues for years and years to come!
Thanks for having me capture your family photos.

Baby Ben | Fort Langley Mini Session

In 2010 we photographed Kevin and Lindsey's wedding and look at them now :)  With the addition of baby Ben just 3 weeks ago, they wanted some updated family photos.  Being that Gavin is not even two they opted for a mini session (20 minutes) and it ended up working wonderfully.  We met in Fort Langley (where they had their engagement session years ago!) and Gavin was a superstar.  He wasn't so sure about his new plaid shirt but I think it worth the effort to get him in it!

Kevin and Lindsey, congratulations on the arrival of baby Ben!  It will be so special to see these two boys grow to be great buddies.  As always, great to see you two.

Three Boys | Williams Park Family Session

This summer has been full of mini sessions!  This one was for a family that I have known for 8 years now.  We know Jeff and Christina from church and our older boys are similar in age.  There's a lot of talk about Lego and Star Wars and hockey and all that good stuff  when we get together:)  We just had a mini session to get a few updated photos of their family and the boys were rock stars...or ninjas.  You'll see.  Williams Park is awesome and the boys had a blast there too.  Enjoy!
Jeff and Christina, always a pleasure to hang out with your family!

Ava, Wesley and Nico | Summery Cuteness at Bear Creek Gardens

Last week I had a mini session with Jenny and Mike's beautiful family.  When they stepped out of the car I was so happy to see their bright summery colours!  So perfect.  Ava, Wesley and Nicholas are so adorable and so energetic :)  We chose a quiet part of Bear Creek Gardens where they wouldn't be very distracted and just did a mini session (20 minutes).  The kids were then free to go wild.  Jenny and Mike are amazing parents who just exude love and patience.  I love meeting such awesome people and just getting to know them in this setting.  Yes, pictures can be stressful for some, but if you just relax and let your kids be themselves, it will all be okay.
It was so great to see you all again!  I hope you enjoyed exploring the park afterwards.
Mike and Jenny, great to see you again.  I especially liked that this time it was in the sunshine instead of the rain:)

Back To School Mini Sessions!

Can you believe it's almost back to school time?  I just spent some time figuring out how much my kids feet have grown over the summer and how many new pairs of runners I will have to buy!

For the past couple of years I have done back to school sessions for my kids and it's been so fun!  It allows me to capture their First Day of School outfit, fresh hair cuts, new back pack, favourite books etc.  I'm so glad I've done it and I love looking back at them year after year!  I use this in place of getting a school photo because those are just, well, not my favourite.

Last year I did some mini sessions and it was great.  You can see them here and here.  If you are interested, I have 6 spots still available!  Please email me as it's just a week away!:)

Connor & Blake | A Hug Filled Redwood Park Session

Redwood Park is great for a family session AND there is a perfect playground to play at afterwards.  We just had a mini session (20 minutes) which was the perfect amount for Connor and Blake.  In a mini session, there isn't a lot of walking around, just using one spot and going for it:)

The boys did so well and it was a great way for all of us to start our day.  This session is a bit `hug-ier' and cuddlier than most which I think is adorable.  Whenever I `feel' a photo, I provide it in colour and black and white...there were a lot of black and whites on their disk and I love the say they look.  Enjoy!
Brenda and Shane, so great to see you again and see your boys all grown up and so tall!!  Hope the last few days of your holidays went well:)

Bear Creek Gardens | Extended Family Session

Bear Creek Gardens is a great place for summer family sessions as there is ample shade, beautiful gardens and then a fabulous playground for the kiddos to play at afterwards!  I met Kelsey (youngest daughter in the family) years ago through the wonderful world of blogging and facebook:)  She was a bridesmaid in Sara and Dan's wedding back in 2010 when her oldest daughter, Addison, was still in utero.  Being that they were visiting family for a couple of weeks this summer, an extended family session was a great idea!  Every grandparent loves an extended family session :)

I have two more extended family sessions this August and then I am actually no longer doing them.  If you are interested in one, I can recommend several photographers for you!  As a photographer, it's definitely ideal to narrow your niche and this is one area that I struggle to be creative with:)   I love meeting so many people and seeing the family dynamics but it's tricky to get all the combo's down while organizing and keeping kids interested!  It's like trying to squeeze 4 family sessions into one which really takes away from flexibility and candidness!

However, back to the session here...let's see if you can guess which adult sibling is the comedian in the family:)
It was great to meet you all!  Kiddos, you all did so well!! Parents, not bad either:)
