Kenzie

Just a few pictures of my beautiful niece, taken in her home. We literally had 4 minutes to take these before all the kids (her two sisters and my two boys) came back in the house:) I will be taking pictures of baby Kenzie with her big sisters (and mom and dad) in a week or so, but in the meantime, here are a few. Kenzie was born just over a week ago at 9lbs 7oz and is such a laid back and sweet baby.

Natalie & Logan | Family Photos

This adorable family met at Brian's parents house for their family photos. The kids did wonderfully and the weather behaved (this is a big thing in the lower mainland these days)!! Natalie is 3 years old and Logan is just turning 1. Natalie was able to make Logan smile by playing peek-a-boo, and they were so cute together. Both kids have incredible blue eyes. Enjoy!

{Playing Peek-a-boo on the blanket, such a cute sibling moment. }
{I love chubby baby/toddler hands!}

{It was fun and I'm so glad that you were flexible enough to meet on a day where the sun decided to shine! We may have to do it again in a few years:) }

Theoren & Anton | Family Photos

This family decided on Derby Reach for their family photo session, so it may look similar to the last post! I worked with Carolynne and it's always fun for me to photograph someone that I know and get to know their family in the process. I have two younger boys so it took a minute or two to figure out what a grade 9 and grade 6 boy might like to do but we worked it out:) Some jumping, some funny faces and some climbing on dad.

{They did not hesitate when I suggested a funny face once or twice...}

{I like the one of Carolynne and Jim above...}

{Great hanging out with you all and getting to know the boys!}

Erica & Aaron | Engagement Photos

I love doing a photo session when a thunderstorm seems seconds away! The sky is perfectly cloudy and there are no worries of squinting or shadows. I met Erica and Aaron at Derby Reach for their engagement shoot and we had a great time! The salmon were jumping like crazy, as in, you could probably dip a net in and catch one. These two are good friends with Justin and Alicia and are getting married just months apart. I've known Erica for quite a few years as she was my TA way back in the day:) We're looking forward to their wedding next May. Here we go!
{How have I not walked down to the beach portion at the Heritage Site before? Crazy me. It was great! Aaron, don't worry, I got some good pictures of you two and your truck but I'll just include a teaser here...}
{Just like Justin and Alicia, these two also got a few shots with an old manure spreader:)}

{I'll be honest, the smell down by the beach wasn't the best. There were a lot of rotting fish which doesn't really lead to the most romantic setting!}
{We then drove 1km east towards Fort Langley where there is a great area of rolling hills and long grass...don't you love it? You may remember it from Jana and Ross' wedding day.}

{Congratulations on your engagement and all the best to you with your wedding planning!}

Connor & Blake | Family Photos

These family photos were taken on the loop around the north entrance of Campbell Valley Park. Stopping to take a few photos, it takes about an hour...perfect! When you have a couple of energetic kids, it's a lot easier to get them to smile when they are happy running around seeing squirrels, birds and spiders! This loop is special to me for several reasons. It is where I took my first SLR pictures 10 years ago, using Gary's camera. It was when Gary and I were just getting to know each other and it was our first one on one nature walk:) Okay, enough about us, on to this cute family!!
{Connor is just about 3 years old and pretty much ran the whole loop. Blake is about 9 months old and loved crawling around exploring.}
{How cute are they together? They were so nice to each other. I think my boys would've been tackling each other! Maybe in a few more months....}
{Below is pretty much what happened the whole time. Connor was go, go, go. I'm assuming he slept well that night!}
{Some fellow walkers were kind of enough to give Connor some bird seed, how fun! I think I will have to take my kids there. Connor wasn't so sure what he thought once the bird actually landed on his hand.}

{Connor loved the squirrel and asked me to `Cheese it':) Great term for taking a picture of it!}
{They have a great little spot here on the bridge where you can watch the ducks, I'm realizing now how many animals we saw!}
{I love the boys just having fun together!}
{We put the boys in their car seats, with their milk, and quickly took a few shots right next the vehicle...you can't even tell this is the parking lot can you? }
{Brenda and Shane are celebrating 4 years of marriage in a couple of weeks. Happy anniversary, it was great meeting your family!}

Hendrik & Lisa | Wedding Day

You know how each wedding has a different feel? Traditional? Romantic? Vintage? Well, this one had the feeling of fun! Lisa and Hendrik enjoy climbing together so that theme popped up here and there. You know, the centerpieces, the car, the favours etc. You'll see. Here we go!
{Lisa had her sister and her cousin as her bridesmaids. Her sister is actually getting married in just a few weeks!}

{Lisa's mom putting the boutonniere on Hendrik. The flowers were all a little extra special because Lisa's mom is the one that put them together!}

{I love the shot below! Dad is peeking around the corner and looking down the aisle. You can see Lisa's silhouette as she is seconds away from seeing Hendrik.}

{After a few quick shots in front of the stained glass we went to Friendship Park and Queen's Park.}

{All three of the guys are engineers. Interesting technique to try to get Hendrik to the other side of the stream!}

{The rainbow wall is actually the wall of the um, bathroom, and there were a lot of ladies waiting in the line up. They got a lot of cheers while kissing in front of this wall!}
{At one point I had asked the bride and groom to walk holding hands and the groomsmen felt a little left out...}
{I know I already showed you a sneak peek picture of the climbing themed car but I really did love it. I love it when people personalize their big day!}
{Hendrik was all over this playground apparatus and Lisa did a great job getting up there. She almost slid down the fireman pole but alas, we didn't want to tear the dress:)}

{And then, it was off to the reception!}
{In order to get the couple to kiss, you had to ride the tricycle wearing a sombrero:) It worked super well, even when the handlebars fell off!}

{I love seeing girls faces when they catch the bouquet:)}
Hendrik and Lisa, thank you so much for having us photograph your special day. I love it that we knew you two when you were just starting out high school, it's always extra special for us. Blessings to you!
