Gracie | 6 Months Old

I have 16 nieces and nephews and Grace is the youngest one (until July!).  She is about a year younger than Nya and already bigger than her!  It is amazing to me how much a baby can grow on milk alone.  Normally in a session there would be a lot more photos, but in this case (quick free session for your littlest sis!), there are just a few.  Gracie, love the baby rolls!

PS I have so enjoyed having the last two weeks off.  Well, we were sick during those two weeks so it was `perfect' timing :)  Looking forward to a variety of sessions over the next month; two newborns, a family and engagement! 

Everly's Cake Smash | Studio Mini Session

Everly turns one over the Christmas holidays so Tamara and Jason came in a few weeks before her birthday to celebrate.  Everly is definitely on the move and even a beautiful and yummy cake couldn't keep her attention for long!  Good thing there was a lot of cake left because I think Jason was hoping for that!  Here she was just 6 months ago and I love that her hair is taking it's sweet time coming in, it reminds me of my own daughter!

Madison | Mini Christmas Session

Maddie is a buddy of Koen's and she moved away about 6 months ago.  I was happy to hear that Christina wanted another mini session because that meant that the kids could play afterwards!  Last year I did a mini session with her in several beautiful Christmas dresses and this year she had three different ones to model :)  

I do not do a lot of studio photos as I much prefer natural light, but, given the cold and dark weather in the winter, I do love the option!  I think Maddie looks adorable.  Merry Christmas Maddie!

Baby Grace | Newborn Photos

Meet my newest niece, Grace!  She was born on July 24th, just before we were loading a plane back from Thailand.  I'm sad to have missed her amazing birth (amazing meaning fast and Trish pulled/guided her out herself with the assistance of a midwife) but am glad to have a beautiful baby girl to get to know.  She was born at 7lbs 7oz and looks a whole lot like her big sister Hannah.  

Trish just wanted a few newborn photos of her and a couple with momma.  It was so easy!  Grace came sleeping and left sleeping, wow. I've never seen such a laid back baby.  However, I know she's given Trish some rough nights so she's not always easy:) 

Congratulations Trish and Steve on your beautiful baby girl!

Baby Asher | Newborn Studio Session

You might remember Matt and Carolyn's mini session in October when they announced that Noah was going to be a big brother!  Well, here is the little brother, Asher.  He's so cute and totally reminds me of big brother Noah when he was little!   Noah had his newborn photos done in their home and they wanted something different for Asher so we did some in studio.

Lily Turns 3 | Studio Mini Session

I did Lily's 2 year old pictures last December and it's always fun seeing how BIG they get in just one year!  Here's Miss Lily, who is now three years old!  Happy birthday Lily!  Ka-chow:)

Nya | Six Months Old

Eek! I had meant to do a proper 6 month post but I never got around to taking the photos I wanted to because we were all so sick.  However, Miss Nya is turning 7 months old on Saturday so I better post some of the ones I do have:) 

Nya is such a joy.  She is relaxed, easy going, quick to smile and she is very loved!!  Her brothers think she is the cutest thing and I tend to agree.  She now rolls over to sleep on her tummy and is almost sitting on her own.  She would much rather play with the tv remote than any of her toys. She loves being held and going for walks.  She does not love going to bed at night...

My goal over the holidays is to have Gary take some photos of me with my little girl.  So often I am critical of how I look in photos (like many of you tell me about yourselves!), but I want my little girl to have photos showing her how much her momma loves her.

So thankful for this baby girl.  She has brought so much sunshine into our lives.  How is she 7 months old already?!

My Nya | 6 Month Studio Photo

My beautiful baby girl is 6 months old and she is such a joy.  We were pretty sick for a couple of weeks so Nya's 6 month photos are only half way done.  I'm hoping to be able to do a few more this afternoon or this week.  I just wanted to show you one of my cutie pie.  She's at the stage where everything goes in her mouth, so she just wanted to chew on the ribbon.  She is so sweet and so very loved....even at 1am and 4am:)

Madison | Christmas Mini Session

I met Maddie's mom, Christina, this spring at a women's group at our church.  They had moved here from the island and we hit it off right away as we are both teachers who are now home with our kids.  My son Koen was excited that Maddie was coming over for a mini session and they had a lot of fun playing afterwards.  I think he also may have appreciated that she brought him chocolate:)   Here are some Christmas-y pictures of sweet three year old Maddie with the cutest curls...

Isaac | 6 Month Studio Session

Here are just a couple of pictures of my cutie patootie nephew from a few weeks back. Love those big blue eyes and giant smile! Also, I'm a big fan of the jean style cloth diaper:)

Hannah | 6 Month Studio Session

I'm thankful for the studio on days when it rains! I had a last minute photo session with my adorable 6 month old niece this past weekend. Being that she can now sit up, it was the perfect time. I love this little red head who looks so much like her daddy:)

I know that all the pictures look so similar as she's such a smiley pants, but I figured it couldn't hurt to show all of these! Love you Hannah Banana!

Baby Nya | Meet Our Little Girl

On May 22nd, at 8:30am, we welcomed our beautiful daughter into this world. She was 2lbs smaller than her big brothers at 7lbs 14oz, but she was just as long (21.5"). We are so incredibly thankful for this healthy baby girl and are savouring every minute with her. Her big brothers think she is the cutest thing around and I agree:) Her name is Nya Greta Chapman. Nya is a Swahili name that means `Purpose'. Greta was my mom's name (she passed away 6 years ago).

In about one month we will return to our regular photo sessions but in the meantime, we will be taking just a `few' photos of our beautiful family. Gary and I took some time this weekend to take some photos of Nya with each of us. It is kind of exhausting attempting your own newborn photos, and there was really no way we could get a decent full family photo, but that will happen in just a few months:) Also, we had the big boys running around the whole time which wasn't ideal...oh well, we got some good ones I think!

She is sleeping in almost all of these photos (the first two taken at 4 days old, the rest taken at 10 days of age) but soon I will show you some photos of her beautiful blue eyes. So far she is a pretty laid back little girl and we are loving being a family of 5!
