Kim & Steve | Wedding Day

Kim and Steve are an adventurous couple who met in the army. They've had a long distance relationship most of the time and will likely have to continue that way for the next little while. Their sense of adventure meant that they did such a super job not letting the elements get them down! It started off just cold and then...well, there was a whole lot of rain and wet snow. I loved the winter and patriotic colours they chose, the bridesmaids different dresses and the amount of laughter that filled the reception. Enjoy.

{The pearls below belonged to Kim's grandmother. Her cousin restrung them and made a pair of earrings out of them as well!}

{The girls, along with Kim's parents, were all getting ready in several hotel rooms.}

{The guys were all hanging out and getting ready at Steve's parents house.}

{Sweet nephew, Malakai, stopping to smell the rose(s). Steve is trying to figure out just what is going to happen in the ceremony.}

{We first went to Fort Langley for family photos. It started sprinkling and by the end, it was pouring!!}

{I like how the community hall is all festive (it's actually where they had their reception too!) Then, we went to White Rock. The weather there was a lot worse and we had to be a little creative using patio spaces in a short amount of time so no one froze:)}

{The wedding party went back to Fort Langley to hang out at a lounge for a bit and just warm up...}
{And then, it was reception time!}
{Instead of cake, there were a bunch of homemade goodies!}
{This next montage of pictures just shows you how much everyone was laughing throughout the night...}

{Congratulations Kim and Steve! I hope you had an amazing honeymoon (I wouldn't mind being in Mexico right now!) and all the best to you over the years to come. We had a great time capturing your big day. }

Kim & Steve | Sneak Peek

This is a super small sneak peek of Kim and Steve's wedding day. Kim likes the look of black, white and red photos so here are a few:) I always provide almost every picture in colour and in black and white, and in their case, they will have a few with red as well. Their day was filled with laughter (probably the most ever at a reception!) and a whole lot of cold weather and wet snow. It was probably the toughest weather we've ever had but they handled it so well. I think we did okay too:) I'll have their wedding post up next week sometime. Next week we also have our last wedding of 2010 and it should be a good one! As for the next few days...it will be purely family time and I'm looking forward to it.
Congratulations Kim and Steve!

Merry Christmas!

I just want to take this time to give you all a humongous thank you. Thank you to those who have booked us for weddings, family photos and more. Thank you to those who have commented on here. Thank you to all of those who have ever passed on our name. Thank you for the compliments and encouragement. I, Louise, am so incredibly thankful for this business. I get to take pictures of beautiful people in wonderful places, and most importantly, it allows me to stay home with two very special little boys. Life is good. I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
{Koen, above, is turning 2 in a couple of weeks!}

{Our big boy, Kai, will be going to kindergarten next year! That's one of his smiles, not an angry face:)}
Thank you everyone and we'll see you in 2011!

Leanne & Kyle | Wedding Photos

It was a gorgeous and chilly December day when Leanne and Kyle said their `I Do's'. They were getting ready in farm homes just down the driveway from one another which made it easy for Gary and I to carpool:) There was a lot going on at the girls' home as there were six bridesmaids getting ready, along with all the other family members that were there. The boys were a little more relaxed, just playing video games and waiting for the ceremony. Enjoy the pictures documenting their day...

{Gorgeous sisters hey? Leanne has 3 sisters and 3 brothers. And I thought that I came from a big family (I have 4 sisters)! We took a bunch of the bridesmaid/bride photos at the farm, before the ceremony, because of the limited light in December and it worked really well!}

{The two bridesmaids above are actually sisters. The one on the left, married Leanne's brother. The one on the right is Leanne's best friend. It took me a while to figure out all the connections:) I love the matching sad faces below.}
{Did I mention how cold it was? I would've been wearing leggings under my dress for sure!!}

{Always love a great group hug! Kyle's dad was one of the groomsmen which was a first for us, I love it!}
{Off to the ceremony! Immaculate Conception Parish is so well lit inside, no flashes needed. Great location.}

{We actually just stayed at the ceremony location for most of the pictures. A brick wall and a bit of greenery and it was all we needed!}

{Then we went to the dyke in Delta to get a few sunset shots before going back to the farm to defrost. It was soooooo cold but they were all such good sports!}

{We all went back her brother's place so everyone could grab a snack, warm up, and relax a bit. Leanne and Kyle practiced their dance...}

{And then the reception! One of the great things about December weddings; Mistletoe! Makes for a great entrance.}

{Congratulations Leanne and Kyle! It was a beautiful day and you made our day so easy and fun! All the best to you in the months and years to come. }
