Tabitha & Sonny | Granville Island Engagement Session

Tabitha and Sonny met while volunteering on Mercy Ships in Guinea.  How cool is that?  Very.  It also tells you a lot about their hearts and their sense of adventure.  We are very excited to photograph their wedding day as they are such beautiful people, inside and out.

Tabitha is also super awesome because she is one of five girls, just like me!  I think her family is the only other one I know where there are five girls and no boys.

Tabitha and Sonny are doing the long distance wedding planning right now as he is from Australia and works abroad, on a ship, for months at a time.  I'm so glad that a fall engagement session after just getting engaged, worked out!  Here they are, on Granville Island, celebrating their love and future lives together.  Such a fun time in their lifelong journey together!  Enjoy.
You guys are awesome.  And so cute.  Happy wedding planning!  Love, Louise and Gary.

Tate Turns One | Family Session

It's the season of mini sessions and it's sure a good idea when you have a little one and it's cold out.  Last year I took photos of newborn Tate and look at him now!  It looks like he just permanently smiles based on these photos and I will tell you, he does, when there is an Elmo sitting on my head :)

Happy first birthday, Tate!  I loved spending some time with you.
I love toddler kisses:)

Siblings Love | Stewart Farms Mini Session

Gary and I are happy to call this family our friends.  The kids play awesomely together and us adults get along all right too:)    There are always a whole lotta laughs going on when we're all together!  Two years ago, I did their family session at Redwood Park which you can see here.   This time we met at Stewart Farms for another mini session.  It was one of those evenings where the lighting was perfect and the kids were fantastic, even though it was pretty chilly!  I brought Gary and kiddos along and we had a great play date afterwards.  What a great evening!

Here they are...
Love you guys and I'm glad we're friends!
Love, Louise

Lauren | Abbotsford Mini Session

Lynette and I have been best friends since grade 8 which is about, oh,  23 years!!  Wow, that is awesome and we are old:)  Last year, Lynette and Bryan became parents to Lauren.  She is THE sweetest little girl.  She has the best smile (with dimples!!) and the cutest personality.  She thought a pumpkin was the funniest thing she'd ever seen.  I can't wait for Lauren and our daughter, Nya, to get to know each other better over the years!

Here are just a few photos from a cool October morning.  Lauren will be turning one this week and wow, has this year flown by.  Happy first birthday Lauren!!

Claire Turns Three | Clayton Mini Session

Two years ago, I took photos for Claire's first birthday.  Look at Claire now...she just turned three the day before and now she is a big sister to Lucy (who just so happens to have the best head of hair).   We met up for a mini session in a local field and Claire was all smiles, although, that may have had something to do with the never ending package of gummy bears!

Such a sweet family.  Dave and Estelle, thank you for having me take your family photos again and congratulations on baby Lucy!

Oh yes, one more thing...loooooooove blue and yellow for photos.

Alf & Kelly | 10 Year Anniversary Session

Alf and Kelly will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary in December.  Being that December is pretty dark, they wanted to have a family/couple session in the fall.  After MANY days of having to reschedule (due to weather), we finally had a beautiful day over the Thanksgiving weekend.  They had decided on doing it at Lighthouse Park which is such a gorgeous location.   It is also a very special place to them as Kelly grew up going there with her family on Sunday afternoons and also, it is where Alf and Kelly went on their first date!

Kelly is also a photographer which is awesome because we often talk `shop'.  We also have kids of similar ages which is always fun.  I think it's so great that they celebrated their anniversary with a photo session and Kelly even wore her wedding dress for some photos!  It still fits and is even too big?!  Wow. The bouquet was tied with the ribbon from their original wedding bouquet.

We did the first part with the kids and then Kelly's family was able to watch them while we hiked to another point.  I definitely got a work out in so it's good thing I love the outdoors:)  It is obvious the love, gentleness and respect that they have for one another which I really admire.  I caught a ride with them too, there and back, so it was a lot of time for me to see the lovely family dynamic they have going on.

Enjoy.
{The one below is one of my favourites.  It was soooo bright but her brother helped by holding the reflector and it worked perfectly.}
Did you notice the hummingbird in that last photo?  Such a fun session.  Congratulations you two!
Love, Louise
