Everly's Cake Smash | Studio Mini Session

Everly turns one over the Christmas holidays so Tamara and Jason came in a few weeks before her birthday to celebrate.  Everly is definitely on the move and even a beautiful and yummy cake couldn't keep her attention for long!  Good thing there was a lot of cake left because I think Jason was hoping for that!  Here she was just 6 months ago and I love that her hair is taking it's sweet time coming in, it reminds me of my own daughter!

Happy Birthday Nya!

Can you believe it's been one year since my baby girl was born?  I am emotional and thankful and just so in love.  Here is our Princess Peach, our `Cutie', our Miss Nya.  We all love her very much.  

Kenzie Turns One | Cake Smash

My littlest niece is turning one in a few weeks. I love having these little ones around and by having 4 sisters, there's pretty much always another one on the way! We had a little Cake Smash which was really just an `Icing Tasting':) There were two siblings and two cousins eagerly watching the whole thing to make sure that the cake would be intact enough for them to eat. So, no wasted cake here, just a sugar high play date amongst cousins!

Happy first birthday Kenzie Benzie. You are so loved!

Charlie's Cake Smash | First Birthday

Sweet little Charolotte is turning one this week and she is such a doll! This weekend, she came to the studio for a mini cake smash session. A cake smash is where the birthday girl/boy is presented with their first, and very own, giant cupcake or cake. It allows you to take some time and creativity to capture the moment that usually happens at their first birthday. It's always interesting watching what they will do...dive in? Run away? Charlotte tentatively ate the icing and was most interested in the number 1 candle:) Enjoy some photos of this beautiful big girl!

Makayla's Cupcake Smash | First Birthday

I met this lovely family when they had a session on Father's Day. Mom, Chelsea, had asked about doing a cake smash for Makayla's first birthday and I said I would LOVE to! I've never done one and it was a lot of fun. I am now kind of sad that I never did it with my own boys. I think I will be letting my son have one for his second birthday:) It was just a mini session (less than half an hour) and Makayla did a fabulous job eating her cake like a lady! Just think of all the fun things you could add as variations...bubbles, balloons, birthday hats...the possibilities are endless!! There were a ton of pictures but I will just show you a few of them here.

{Makayla needed a little help from mom and dad to actually do more than just dip her finger in the top. She was so sweet:) I love the little purple icing footprints in the last picture. She kept trying to run off of the background and no one really wanted to grab her because she was covered in icing! Thank you for suggesting the Cake Smash, it was a lot of fun and something I may need to do more of!}
