Kyle & Lindsay | Engagement Session

When Lindsay said they were thinking about Granville Island for their engagement session, I knew it would be a great place for them. I love Granville Island as there are places to take photos on every inch of that island! We only did a small part of it and I would love to do another session there sometime (hint hint to all you engaged couples!!). Gary and I did this session together so that we could have a fun date right afterwards:) I actually taught Kyle in my first year teaching and Gary coached him in basketball. It's always fun to have connections like that! And, it's always fun to see an old student so happy and in love. These two were so comfortable with each other and were up for anything. They brought some great outfit changes and were just a lot of fun. Kyle and Lindsay, you guys are a sweet and beautiful couple. We had a great time with you and we look forward to the big day next June! So I may have posted way more pictures than normal...there's just such a variety of backgrounds, I couldn't help it. Enjoy!

{Please note that it was really cold and drizzling out...you can't even tell! There were some bystanders taking pictures of them here on the pier, kind of funny.}

{The dress + yellow wall= awesome. Although, not super romantic as it may have had the smelly dumpster right behind that wall:)}

{We had a great time. I think that if Gary and I were to have our engagement session right now, we would do it at Granville Island. Very fun. Congratulations on your engagement Kyle and Lindsay!}

Cole, Paige & Claire | Family Photos

I was so thankful that this adorable family could meet up with me on Thursday. The weather was looking quite unpredictable for the weekend (although it ended up being okay), so I was relieved to get their session in on a perfectly overcast day. The kids did such a fabulous job, especially considering that we met right after school. It was great meeting the parents because we realized we actually went to high school together, several years apart. Enjoy the colouful, fall feeling, family photos!

Pretty cute, eh? Lynn and Chris, I kept seeing your siblings faces as I was editing your photos:) You have a very beautiful family and I enjoyed getting to know you all!

Chapman Family Photos

We had our own extended family photos this past weekend at Ellwood Park. Gary and I had less than an hour to do all of these as there was some trick or treating to be done! So, here are some pictures of Gary's side of the family, starting with his mom and dad...
{Gramma, grandpa and all the grandkids! I think this is the only picture where our oldest son, Kai, is actually looking at the camera.}
{Of course with these gorgeous leaves, you need a picture throwing them!}

{Ellwood Park has several great structures that work if it's raining out...as you can see in the picture below, it was really raining when we got there!}
{The hardest part about doing your own extended family session...the group shot! You have to set it up, then plug in the receiver and then use the remote transmitter to get it. Doesn't allow for too much creativity...especially when we have two monkeys for sons:)}
{Another attempt at the full family shot below...}
{You have to compliment Pam on how great she looks in the picture above:) She, like many women, says she doesn't like having her picture taken. You look great Pam!!}
{All the girls. Aren't we lovely?}

{The sun was in the perfect spot for some backlit photos of the grandkids. I love this spot at Ellwood Park!}

{And another one, just without gramma and grandpa.}

{And, ending it all with grandma and grandpa again. I love fall family photos, I think we'll have to do it again next year!!}

Micah, Janelle, Peter and Keziah | Family Photos

This was my second mini session on Saturday; another high energy group of adorable kids! I have actually known Stephani (aka the mom) my whole life, from Sunday school to running cross country together in high school! We met up at Derby Reach and there were tons of leaves. I wish the leaves could stay around a whole lot longer, they are so beautiful! Getting four young kids to look at the camera was a bit difficult, but you know what, a kid or two looking away is a whole lot more natural looking, right?! You'll see more than one picture of them on the fence because when they are sitting on the fence, they can't run away:) Here's a taste of what we got from our half hour together...
{Two year old Keziah is such a sweet little girl!}

{Peter wanted me to take a picture of the mole hill with a leaf on it...there you go Peter!}

{Micah had fun playing soccer with dad!}

{I love everyone just being themselves in the last picture. There was a lot of laughter throughout, I think you can tell! Hope you like them:)}

Ryan, Micah & Casey | Family Photos

Every time I have a session with high energy kids, I'm thankful that my two boys have given me a lot of practice. These boys (and parents!) did fabulously. This session was less about creative pictures and more about being creative to get good photos of them. It was just a mini session (sometimes half hour sessions are best to keep their attention and avoid meltdowns!) but I think there are a lot of great images. Enjoy!
{There was a lot of jumping out of trees and playing with sticks:)}

{Beautiful leaves. Perfect location. And below...I don't usually show so many of the same type of picture but I just love how throwing the leaves totally captures their personalities!}

{And a few of mom and dad together. I didn't even get to the end of my sentence of, `Would you like any kissing...' and they did. Cute.}
{Mom and dad are actually both teachers, just like Gary and I! Although, I guess I'm a non practicing teacher right now:)}
{The boys were happiest up in the tree and each boy needed a picture jumping out of it. Boys just like my own!}

{It was nice meeting you! I hope you had a great time exploring after I left. Boys, great job staying clean for that half hour:)}
