Lyra, Logan & Cody | Ellwood Park Family Photos

I have been photographing Pam and Nolan for years and I love this yearly tradition of June family photos.  This time we just did a mini session and it was a good idea because it was raining.  We met at Ellwood Park which has a good structure for rain cover and the kids did so wonderfully.  I was able to fully see Cody's personality this year, and boy, does he have a variety of facial expressions!

Pam and Nolan, always good to see you!  Happy 4th birthday to Logan, I hope you enjoyed your donut :)

Adrianna & Willem | Ellwood Park Family Photos

I took photos of Jackie and Harvie last spring when they were expecting little Willem and now he's here!  Somehow they had some rain during their session last year and even more this time.  So, with a last minute location change to Ellwood Park, we were able to do the session under cover.

This family is soooo adorable and I love the navy blue in their photos.  In case you are new here, if I post a picture in black and white, they also get that photo in colour as I know some people aren't the biggest fans of black and white.  Just saying :)

These photos were taken over the Mother's Day weekend and I just think it's SUCH a great gift for a mom.  Who wouldn't want family photos?  And the photos of Harvie with the kids? So cute as we think forward to Father's Day.  They found daddy pretty hilarious.  Jackie and Harvie, you have an awesome family.

Love, Louise

Elly's Birthday | Extended Family Photos

This past weekend was wild weather wise but no matter what, they were going ahead with their family photos!  It was Elly/mom/oma's birthday and the kids all surprised her by coming to the Lower Mainland at the same time.  Her youngest daughter and family weren't supposed to be down from Nunavut for another two weeks, and as they were skyping and pretending to still be up north, they appeared in the living room!  Great start to the birthday weekend.

I love this family.  I went to school with them, am very good friends with Ali (in the pink cardigan), and we were wedding photographers for Kyle and Lindsay.  Oh, and I taught Kyle too!  They are goofy and loving and adventurous.  Love that combo.  I don't usually do extended family photos (oh my goodness, trying to get a whole bunch of cold, young kids to look at me is not the easiest!) but was happy to make an exception in this case.

Happy birthday, Elly!  I'm glad that you were surprised and hopefully you love your newest family photos!

Abbotsford Spring Wedding

What a beautiful day!! It was so great to see the sun and this happy couple was ear to ear smiles all day. We were just asked to photograph about three hours of the day (the ceremony and portraits) so it was a busy but short day for us. Did I mention that it was sunny?! Did I mention that the couple was non stop smiling?! Win win. Here are some photos of the lovely bride and groom....
{Before the ceremony I was able to get a few shots of the bride and the girls hanging out....such beautiful ladies. Also, I'm a huge fan of purple so I loved their bouquets!}

{After the ceremony, we went to Ellwood Park for family photos. It's a great spot because it has a covered area just in case:)}
{And then it was off to Fort Langley for the remainder of the photos...}

Thank you for having us capture part of the day with you! We had a great time and enjoyed getting to know you two. We hope you had a wonderful honeymoon and all the best to you in the years to come!

Chapman Family Photos

We had our own extended family photos this past weekend at Ellwood Park. Gary and I had less than an hour to do all of these as there was some trick or treating to be done! So, here are some pictures of Gary's side of the family, starting with his mom and dad...
{Gramma, grandpa and all the grandkids! I think this is the only picture where our oldest son, Kai, is actually looking at the camera.}
{Of course with these gorgeous leaves, you need a picture throwing them!}

{Ellwood Park has several great structures that work if it's raining out...as you can see in the picture below, it was really raining when we got there!}
{The hardest part about doing your own extended family session...the group shot! You have to set it up, then plug in the receiver and then use the remote transmitter to get it. Doesn't allow for too much creativity...especially when we have two monkeys for sons:)}
{Another attempt at the full family shot below...}
{You have to compliment Pam on how great she looks in the picture above:) She, like many women, says she doesn't like having her picture taken. You look great Pam!!}
{All the girls. Aren't we lovely?}

{The sun was in the perfect spot for some backlit photos of the grandkids. I love this spot at Ellwood Park!}

{And another one, just without gramma and grandpa.}

{And, ending it all with grandma and grandpa again. I love fall family photos, I think we'll have to do it again next year!!}
