Gary and I have never done a grad session before and it was a lot of fun. A bunch of dressed up young adults celebrating a very special day, it was awesome! Justin, one of the grads, organized to have a group of nine of his friends get together for a photo session right before their grad ceremony. Great idea!
These friends have known each other for years, some even since kindergarten. Also, seven of the ten were in Gary's LEAD class this year (Outdoor Education), so they spent a bunch of time bonding through activities like sleeping in quinzees (snow caves):) We used the proceeds from this session to support one student's education in Kabala, Sierra Leonne for an entire year. Surrey Christian School has been instrumental in building the Christian Primary school in Kabala and supporting the 200 students that attend there. If you are interested in something like this, click here. I think it would be great to do something similar next year...just saying, Grads of 2012:)
The weather forecast was not looking good but we had planned on meeting at Stewart Farms as it does have some undercover areas. Although it was cold, we were so thankful that the weather behaved. We had about 1.5 hours to get portraits of the 10 grads on their own and then in various groups. Enjoy!
{Thank you, grads, for having us take your photos! I know that Gary really enjoyed getting to know you all over the last four years (I think I only taught two of you!) and was happy to capture some special memories for you on your big day! Congratulations!}
