Christina & Chad | Pitt Meadows Wedding Photos

Such a great wedding. Christina and Chad were married in April in Pitt Meadows. I met with the girls in the morning as they were getting ready at Christina's house. Christina is super organized (like, a schedule of the day broken down into 10 minute increments!) and everything went so smoothly. I know I always include so many pictures but I always want people who weren't at the wedding to get a feel for the day. Also, it just tells the story of the day for those that were there as well. Christina is an old student of mine and we've actually taught four of the five bridesmaids too! It always makes it a little more fun seeing them all grown up:) Starting off, the girls were laughing at a video of Christina...
{Christina, you looked beautiful! The girls got all their hair and makeup done at her house and then went to the Pitt Meadows Golf and Country Club to continue getting ready.}
{A few photos with mom. Christina said she felt like a cupcake in her dress. It was so perfect for her and she just looked so classy.}
{While getting ready, Christina was given `the notebook' from Chad. They have a notebook that they have written love letters back and forth to each other over the years. It must have been a good one because Christina started getting pretty teary eyed. Sweet, sweet couple. The ceremony was outdoors at the golf course and the weather was looking promising. They had a path with pictures of their dating life leading the way to their ceremony.}
{All ready to go!}
{Such a beautiful setting! Chad's grandpa was actually the one that was marrying them which made it a little more special.}
{Suddenly, right during the vows, the rain came down. Not just sprinkling either, it was a good downpour. Everyone grabbed an umbrella and it was a cozy way to enjoy the rest of the ceremony:)}

{The rain stopped right after the ceremony and we were pretty good for the rest of the time! Family photos were taken at the golf course where there were some great cherry blossom trees lining the entrance way.}

{Then, we drove just 15 minutes away to Pitt Lake. Gorgeous location. It was pretty overcast but at least we didn't have to deal with harsh shadows! I love this place and can't wait to go back sometime soon.}
{Looking at these pictures, it's hard for me to remember how cold all the girls were while we were there. They were such good sports and we had a great time!}
{I do have a ton of photos where they are all looking nice but sometimes it's nice to mix it up:)}

{Perfect group hug by the guys! Their individual groom and groomsmen photos were quite...unique and funny:) I'll leave them off just so they don't end up on awkwardfamilyphotos.com or something!}

{We then went for a walk along the dyke to a lookout tower which is a great spot. Great job walking in your heels, girls!}

{Pretty beautiful spot, isn't it?}

{We then went back to the golf course to get just a few more photos...}

{And then it was inside to the reception!}

{The centerpieces were beautiful with tea lights hanging in the branches.}
{There was a photobooth set up for the guests to have their photos taken for the guest book...}
{Not sure what's up with the plunger but the props from the photobooth made it out onto the dance floor...}

{Christina and Chad, congratulations! Thank you for having us along to celebrate the big day. It was really fun to follow you through all the emotions of the day. Hope you two are having a wonderful honeymoon and I'll bet we'll see you a time or two in the next while as we are practically neighbours now!}

A Mother's Day Session | Sendall Gardens Family Photos

Kim contacted me a while back about booking a family session for her mom. What a great Mother's Day gift! We did Kim & Tyler's wedding back last May (hey, happy anniversary you two!) so it was fun to get together with her family again. If you know anything about the weather down here in the Lower Mainland, it has been all over the place. Fortunately it was really good last weekend when we met at Sendall Gardens. Enjoy!
{I love all three family photo combinations above:)}
{Did you notice the heart on the tree?}

{I love tulips. There aren't many flowers out yet but there are tulips everywhere!}
{I think we got every single possibly combination that you can get with six adults. Mom with each kid, dad with each kid, each kid with each kid etc. Don't worry, I won't show you them all:)}

{My favourite sequence of photos is probably with Kyle and Kirk. Kirk (above) had a hard time not smiling:)}

{You are one good looking family! Love that shot above.}

{Thank you for having me take your family photos, you all did such a great job:) I hope you all have a fabulous Mother's Day!}

Leah & Nathan | Wedding Photos

What a beautiful day. I met up with Leah at her parents house where all seven of her bridesmaids (yes, seven!) were getting ready. The plan was for Leah and Nathan to have photos of just the two of them first, and then meet up with the rest of the wedding party later on. All of the girls were hanging out eating some fabulous homemade cinnamon buns and making sure Leah was doing all right, and she was!

{Leah had two pairs of shoes for the day; a dressier one and a more comfortable pair of flats. I totally recommend it!}
{Although their photos were taken before the ceremony, I'll show the ceremony first:)}
{Both mom and dad walked Leah down the aisle. My mom and dad walked me down the aisle too, I think it's special.}
{The vows were wonderful. They wrote their own and Nathan spoke of nine promises which Leah would be continuously reminded of as she had nine diamonds on her wedding ring. It was a beautiful moment.}
{Another special thing to note about their ceremony is that it was Nathan's dad that married them. Gary's dad also married us:)}

{Leah and Nathan had their `first look' photos done at John Lawson Park in Ambleside. There is a pier that they used and they were able to have a few moments on their own first. It was actually right next to a playground so several girls came to give Leah dandelions for her bouquet:)}

{We then went to Lynn Canyon and probably found the last two parking spots there. What a beautiful location, I really loved it. Please note that although I'm afraid of heights, I did go out into the middle of the bridge! I love the wooden staircase area and it worked really well to just have some time with the bride and groom. Their priority was to have ample photos of the two of them and I think we were able to do just that.}

{We then met up with family and the wedding party at Deer Lake Park. I don't usually include family photos but I love this tree in the park and I think it's a nice family photo.}

{And then some wedding party photos! We sort of stuck to the building in the park as there was ample shade in the bright midday sun. A couple of other wedding parties had the same idea:) I love all the stone on the building.}

{And then, it was off to the reception...}

{The cupcakes and cake were made by her cousin, Laura.}
{I know it's a silly `cutting the cake' picture. Don't worry, we got the standard shots, just nice to show something different:)}

{These two had their reception set up a bit differently as they didn't actually have a head table. Also, for the first time we've ever seen, the couple would visit each table and then that table could go and eat. The bride and groom actually ate last. I think that totally shows what a giving couple they are.}
{Congratulations Leah and Nathan. We had a wonderful time with you two, your families, and your wedding party. I hope you two are having a fabulous time in Jamaica (how could you not?!) and all the best to you two as you begin your lives as husband and wife!}
