Emily & Mark | Pitt Lake Engagement Session

We are so excited to be photographing Emily and Mark's wedding next May.  Gary and I taught Emily years ago so it's always so fun to reconnect with past students and see what they're doing and who they are going to be marrying!  Mark wasn't so sure about photos but I dare say he kind of enjoyed himself!  Pitt Lake is gorgeous.  Pitt Lake on a cloudy evening with the sun peeking out behind the clouds? Even better.  These two are so sweet together and you can see during a session how a couple communicates.  These two bounce ideas off of each other and work really well as a team (while sharing a lot of smiles between themselves!).

We did change the session date due to the weather and it ended up working so well for all of us!  Mark, it was great to meet you, and Emily, so great to see you again.  Gary and I are looking forward to your wedding.  Enjoy.
{I LOVE this area with the long grass! Fortunately it wasn't too marshy!}

Mark & Erynn | Pitt Lake Engagement Session

What a wonderful engagement session, I loved it!!  Mark and Erynn met playing volleyball, and let me tell you, this is the second wedding that we are photographing where the couple met that way.  Just a little idea for those looking for love:)

Mark does not live locally and so we only had two potential days to do an engagement session. Somehow that first choice ended up having AMAZING weather.   Pitt Lake is a beautiful location but Pitt Lake with cloudy skies and sun peaking through is REALLY beautiful.

Erynn was a little nervous about the photos but they were both complete naturals.  I loved the way they were goofy, sweet and fun together.  Also, Erynn came with some great pinterest ideas and a canoe.  Yes, a canoe.  Love it.  As a side note, Gary and I in a canoe together? Not so romantic when I'm trying to steer.  Apparently I'm not so good at it.

So, without further ado, here are some photos of a super sweet couple.  Enjoy!

Mark and Erynn,  I had a great time with you two!!  See Erynn, nothing to be nervous about:)  Happy wedding planning and we'll see you next April.

Katrina & Brayden | Pitt Lake Engagement Session

I was really looking forward to this engagement session. Such a great couple and a fun location! Being that their wedding is taking place in January, a super summer session was perfect. Sometimes sessions are about getting to know a couple and sometimes it's about catching up with them! I taught Katrina when she was just in grade 8 (and again in grade 9 and 11!) and I've known Brayden and his family all along too.

Katrina (I hope she thinks this isn't a bad thing) reminds me so much of myself in regards to being organized and needing to know everything. This made surprising her for the proposal quite a bit more elaborate than just a `regular' engagement...it is a wild story!.

So, here are some photos of a bright summery evening engagement session. Aren't they so cute?:)

Katrina and Brayden, we are totally looking forward to your big day which is just over 5 months away. Yippee!

Kyle & Lindsay | Pitt Lake Wedding Photos

Kyle and Lindsay are the ones that had a gorgeous engagement session at Granville Island. I loved it and it is still one of my favourites. As a recap, Kyle is an old student of ours and Lindsay is his beautiful bride who actually is good friends with our last bride, Erica. It was a wonderful day and we were so happy to be part of it!

I started out at Lindsay's place with all of her beautiful bridesmaids. Gary met up with the guys before they headed on over to the church. Enjoy!

{The two ring bearers were adorable. They held hands and pulled each other down the aisle:) Check out Lindsay's nervous excitement. I remember when Gary and I got married, the walk down the aisle was the most stressful part. I asked my mom to tell me a joke right beforehand and then walking down the aisle, I couldn't even look at Gary.}
{Lindsay was a bit emotional during the vows:}

{Kyle dipped Lindsay for their kiss:)}

{Husband and wife! Then, it was off to Fleetwood Gardens for the family photos. Perfect spot with a lot of greenery and shade. I don't usually show family photos but here are a few cute ones.}

{We then went to Pitt Lake for the remainder of the photos. I'll try not to include too many! It was overcast for most of it, which was perfect. There were some moments of blinding sunshine but other than that, it was great!}

{You can see the guys personalities in these photos. While editing the photos, I kept saying to Gary, `What are they trying to do here?':)}

{I do have a nice one of the groomsmen holding Lindsay but there were a bunch of great funny ones:)}
{This lookout tower is perfect for a bit more diversity in the photos. It also provided some great shade:)}

{The guys are showing how their bright white shirts don't match Kyle's ivory one. They were all supposed to be ivory. In the end, it's barely noticeable:)}

{And then it was off to the reception...}

{Congratulations to Kyle and Lindsay! Thank you for having us share your day with you. You guys are a wonderful couple and it's obvious how much you guys love and know each other. Hope you are enjoying the nice, long honeymoon!! All the best to you in the years to come!}
