Merry Christmas!

I just want to take a minute to say `thank you' for following GC Photography.  We are again so grateful for another wonderful year of capturing family photos and beautiful weddings.  We love catching up with old friends and making new ones.  We look forward to eight weddings in 2015 and hope that you will continue to see what we're up to.   You can always follow our personal blog which you can find here :)  

I hope that during this busy Christmas season, you will have some time of rest, relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation. I'm thankful that Gary will be home for two weeks to help out with our three wild and adorable monkeys.

I wanted to take a Christmas family photo this weekend but I'm not sure how much Gary will be in the mood for that (he prefers being on the other side of the camera), so for now, we'll stick with our September family photo...

Mike & Erica | White Rock Engagement Session

Erica & Mike had their engagement session in mid November which might sound risky but it totally worked out!  Sunshine + White Rock + Jackson (their dog) = a beautiful engagement session. I love this time together because you can see how a couple works together and personalities emerge quickly.  These two have huge hearts, beautiful smiles and great chemistry.  Enjoy.

Caden, Cole & Brady | Surrey Family Mini Session

My friends Ali & Joel recently moved away, so when they returned for a visit, we met up to chat and take just a head shot of each kid and a family photo.  I've been photographing these kiddos since Caden's birth so we have a tad bit of history.  We actually took these photos at the school where Ali and I met!  This is what 15 minutes and 3 energetic boys gets you :)

Saverio & Michelle | Campbell Valley Engagement Session

I'm so thankful for sweet couples to work with!!!  Michelle & Saverio have been together for 4.5 years and will be getting married next September.  They brought their puppy, Gino, along for photos and he was awesome!  We actually met Michelle and Saverio at Nicole and Donato's wedding earlier this year as they are siblings (Saverio and Donato).  Nicole even took care of Gino while we took these engagement photos!  

Michelle and Saverio, we look forward to your wedding day in 2015.  Thank you for choosing us to capture your day, we are happy to be a part of it!

Fall Family Photos | Tynehead Park Surrey

I loved this session.  The leaves, the weather, the CUTE kids who rarely stop smiling, and the AMAZING costumes that super mom made (seriously, wait until you see them!).  I first photographed Cam & Karen when Kirra turned two.  It was one of my favourites at the time and you can see it here.   

You know how the say to end on a high note?  Well, this was the last family session for me for a while.  I'm not sure what our 2015 is going to look like so we're just accepting a few weddings a year at this point.  I could possibly have spring/summer/fall mini session dates (and if I did, I think the fall one would be PERFECT here at Tynehead Park!).    It was so great to finish with such a lovely, beautiful, and kind family in such a gorgeous setting.  So bittersweet for me.

Thank you to all of the families over the last SEVEN years who have asked us to capture their family photos.  We are so thankful and grateful and appreciative.  You have trusted me.  You have given me the opportunity to stay home with my children a whole lot more.  You have helped to provide an income when I was unable to teach due to my autoimmune disease (now in remission, phew!).  Thank you.

Chapman Family Photos | Abbotsford

Gary and I are blessed with some solid extended families.  Beautiful people, inside and out.  Once every year or two, my mother in law requests family photos.  I know how much I appreciate having our own family photos to put up in our home, so I understand.   It's always a little chaotic doing these photos and I feel that they lack creativity (oh the joys of a tripod and remote trigger) but I still want to share them because these people are important to us.

Also, I just wanted to let you know that the Abbostford Exhibition Park has some great backgrounds to use.  I think I would definitely use the blue wall and tunnel again!

Although my kids are so much younger, the older cousins are so inclusive and Gary and I appreciate it so much!  Yay for family.
