Lauren & Randy | Granville Island Engagement Session

I've known Lauren for a long time as she was a student that I also coached in ball hockey.  She is a teacher now and has a passion for photography too.  I love seeing past students and I really love seeing them so happy!  Lauren met Randy earlier in 2014 and got engaged just seven months later.  He is such a gentleman and super friendly.  He also really knows how to pick out a wedding ring (I love it!).   We met up at Granville Island at the end of December, which may seem like a crazy time for photos, but it worked really well.  Gary and I are looking forward to their wedding in July...hopefully it doesn't involve messy crepes or Settlers of Catan although I'm sure embarrassing dating stories will be told about them ;)  Actually, crepes at a wedding would be lovely, right?

Enjoy!

Randy and Lauren, thank you so much for choosing us to capture your big day!

Christine & Andrew | Granville Island Engagement Session

Christine and Andrew have a long distance relationship so I was so glad that when he was visiting last week, the weather was perfect.   Andrew and Christine met last year and look where they are now...wedding planning!  They have a deep commitment and their `I love you's' are plenty.  I don't have a natural tendency to hug, but I've hugged Christine each time I've seen her, they are both just so friendly.

 I'm so happy that they have found one another as you just never know where you might find your partner!  For Gary and I, we met when we started teaching the same year.  For them, they met the first month they went into online dating (I think it was actually Christine's first day trying it out!).

We are looking forward to their June wedding which will be filled with smiles and `I love you's'.  I'm also loving that Christine is so detail orientated and prepared...you should have seen her changing from one outfit to the next.  She was uber prepared with leggings and tank top underneath to get changed anywhere.  Just a tip to any future brides:)  Happy wedding planning you two!

Love, Louise and Gary

Tabitha & Sonny | Granville Island Engagement Session

Tabitha and Sonny met while volunteering on Mercy Ships in Guinea.  How cool is that?  Very.  It also tells you a lot about their hearts and their sense of adventure.  We are very excited to photograph their wedding day as they are such beautiful people, inside and out.

Tabitha is also super awesome because she is one of five girls, just like me!  I think her family is the only other one I know where there are five girls and no boys.

Tabitha and Sonny are doing the long distance wedding planning right now as he is from Australia and works abroad, on a ship, for months at a time.  I'm so glad that a fall engagement session after just getting engaged, worked out!  Here they are, on Granville Island, celebrating their love and future lives together.  Such a fun time in their lifelong journey together!  Enjoy.
You guys are awesome.  And so cute.  Happy wedding planning!  Love, Louise and Gary.

Shawna & Scott | Granville Island Engagement Session

Shawna and Scott had their engagement session at Granville Island. I love Granville Island. Every time you turn a corner there is a beautiful backdrop. Shawna and Scott are both teachers just like Gary and I! I no longer teach, but I sure think it's wonderful to have those summers off together. And, there is something really wonderful about truly knowing what your spouses day is really like.

They were a little nervous about their session which is so, so normal. I think engagement sessions are so important because it allows us to get to know you (and you, us), how you are as a couple, and what sort of photos you really enjoy. It also helps to alleviate any fear you might have about being photographed and you'll realize it's actually quite fun. You get wonderful photos as an engaged couple which you can use on your wedding day for your guest book/signing, invitations, programs, table numbers etc.

Shawna had 55 mosquito bites from an outdoor wedding the week before (yikes!!) but you can't even tell:) Enjoy this super cute couple.

{Gary and I actually had our photos taken in this alley below, just a month ago. I really like it:)}

{Quick wardrobe change and it was off to the other side of the island...}

{How cute are they under that tree?! Shawna and Scott, I hope that your wedding planning over the next year goes wonderfully. We are looking forward to your big day!}
