Baby Rachel | Newborn Session

Welcome, baby Rachel!  She is sweet and little and her daddy is pretty smitten (her mommy too, but I love to see dads head over heels).  I did engagement photos for Shawna and Ryan 3 years ago and then did their extended family photos two years ago.  So great to see them again, and this time, as parents.  Congratulations Shawna and Ryan, it was so great to catch up with you two and meet your beautiful baby girl.

{Below she is wearing a headband made by her aunty, looks like she likes it!}
Congratulations!

Baby Livia | Newborn Session

I first met Lael and Steve about 2 years ago when their son, Jacob, was just 8 months old.  I met up with them again for Jacob's 2nd birthday photos (so cute!).  And now?  They've added a sweet little girl, Livia, to their family.  I love doing newborn photos in people's homes and especially when they have an amazing amount of natural light.  It's just so...cozy.  I have to say, it was so great to see photos I've taken on their walls :)  Lael, like me, has a thing for black and whites.

Big brother Jacob did such a great job with his little sister and little Miss Livia was super relaxed the whole time.  Enjoy the newborn cuteness!
{I love these daddy daughter shots in black and white.}
Congratulations Lael and Steve!  She's here and she's wonderful.

Mark & Maria | Ucluelet Anniversary Session

We just spent the first week of our Spring Break in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island.  If you've never been, I highly recommend it!  Our friends, Mark and Maria, were also there celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary.   We met up one VERY windy evening for a mini session.  When I say `windy' I mean, very, very windy.  It felt like we were going to be blown off of the rocks and half of the pictures had Maria's hair covering Mark's whole face.  However, it was sooooo worth it!  Who wouldn't love photos in a place that is so special to them?

Happy anniversary Mark and Maria! I'm thankful for our friendship and I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary...here's to many, many more happy years celebrating with chocolate mousse :)

Lindsay & Greg | Stanley Park Engagement Photos

Lindsay and Greg met online on a Canucks forum, which just goes to show, you never know where you will meet your future spouse!  They are super laid back and enjoy hanging out at home and with family.  They totally trust us and let us do our thing which is awesome.  We met up at Stanley Park which is where they had their second date and where Greg currently works.  We took photos at Brockton Point and Prospect Point which worked out so well, even though it was pretty busy.  Gary and I are looking forward to their June wedding which suddenly doesn't seem that far away!

Greg, you'll see towards the end what I meant about the `yummy light'...it was good.  So great to see some sunshine.  Aren't you two cute?!
Congratulations on your engagement, Greg and Lindsay!! Happy wedding planning.
Love, Louise and Gary

Baby Zachary | Newborn Session

I loved this newborn session.  Simple and sweet.  I always make it clear that I am not a photographer that does all the props/set ups/posing of newborns.  Although I think that is beautiful photography, it's not my style and I love to see them as they are naturally.  Joanna and Trevor's home was full of natural light which was so perfect, even on a rainy day.  Their two older kids were able to run around and then they did so amazingly with their newest little brother, Zachary (sometimes with the help of a candy or two :).

I taught Joanna in my very first year of teaching and I don't think I've seen her in about 12 years and it was so great to catch up.  I mean that, I love it!  They have their hands full with three young kids but they somehow just do it so calmly.   Baby Zachary is adorable and I love his hair.

Enjoy the cuteness!
Congratulations Joanna and Trevor on the arrival of your beautiful son.  Such a blessing!
