Sendall Gardens Extended Family Session
Riley & Kivani | Abbotsford Family Session
Love this family. Love these kids. Tessa and Simon are friends of mine that I met, oh, 16 years ago at UBC. We've stayed in touch and although I wish we could see each other more often, I'll take what I can get:) In the past year or so they have experienced so much loss. The reason I mention it is because I have had some loss in my life and therefore, taking photos of my family helps me to celebrate what I do have. So, here they are capturing their awesome family and celebrating these beauties. Love you guys!!!! Enjoy.

Amy & Emma | Sisters
This mini session was super last minute (I think we decided the night before?!) but so fun. I taught Kim when she was in grade 9 and we've stayed in touch over the years thanks to blogging and facebook. Recently, we each had a baby girl, just weeks apart. Kim had a chair that I was interested in borrowing and long story short, we did a little swap. I got to take pictures of her gorgeous kiddos and I've also inherited a lovely pink chair:)
These photos were taken in their backyard and it was perfect. Just a little shade, some beautiful girls with adorable headbands/barrettes, and this is what you get:)
Kim, so great to see you again and to spend some time with your super lovely girls!

Back To School | Part One
I love photographing kids!!! I put this fundraiser together on Saturday and it happened on Monday! So last minute but I thought that if we are celebrating our kids going back to school (or school for the first time!), we can help someone else go to school as well. There is a school in Kabala, Sierra Leone that was built and sponsored by the school that Kai goes to and Gary teaches at. We raised enough in the 2 hours of mini sessions to pay for one student to go to school for the year. You can read more about sponsorship here.
I get nervous trying something new, I guess everyone is afraid of failure, but I'm so glad it was a success and it has encouraged me to take more risks:)
Here are some absolutely beautiful kids, inside and out, from the first hour of our event. I love capturing a kid's favourite book or new back to school outfit or just things that make them `them'. I know each kid has similar photos to the others but I still want to show them all:)
Thank you to all of the families that participated, to Gary for doing all the heavy lifting, and to my friend Maria for running the welcome table and being a chalkboard writer extraordinaire:). Stay tuned for more wonderful kiddos in Part 2!
