Lisa & Richard | A Mini Engagement Session

Lisa and Richard will be getting married in just a few more weeks! They opted not to have an engagement session but just wanted a couple of photos taken to use on their wedding day. So, we met up this week and walked 2 blocks from our house to get a few. I have feeling that their wedding day will be full of laughter and the reception is guaranteed to have some interesting photos (Richard!).

Hope the next few weeks go as smoothly as possible!

Adrianne & Andrew | West Vancouver Engagement Session

We met up with Adrianne and Andrew at Caulfield Park in West Vancouver. Although I normally do engagement sessions on my own, Gary and I decided to do it together because sometimes it's a fun date for us to discover a new park:) This place was great and so was this sweet couple!

Adrianne and Andrew are getting married next April and we needed to do their engagement session now because they will both be living in Calgary by September. They have been dating long distance lately and so they are looking forward to living in the same city soon! Anyone in the Lower Mainland knows that the weather has been all over the place. I did not anticipate such bright sun in the morning so it was definitely a challenge lighting wise. The cliffs overlooking the water were gorgeous but we had to spend most of our time in the forest and on the bluffs, which were equally wonderful in the end:)

{I know I've said this before but I love it when couples choose a place that is special to them. Adrianne and Andrew like coming here to just get away from it all and spend time together.}

{Although Adrianne said she was a bit nervous, they did so well! There was a lot of laughter going on and we had a great time. I love all of the laughing photos:)}

{For the next photos, I climbed down a little cliff. Usually shooting upwards is not flattering but in this case, I was far enough away and I love the look of them. Great idea, Andrew!}

{The tire swing photos below are some of my favourites. There's at least 10 good ones on the swing, including one of them kissing. How romantic! Ever kissed someone on a tire swing? They have:) I didn't include the kissing one though as I told them I would only include one (or two!) kissing pictures total.}

{We also took some fun pictures for their invitation which I will leave off of here so that there is an element of surprise. Nice and creative though!!}

Adrianne and Andrew, it was great to spend some time with you at Caulfield Park. I hope you had a nice picnic afterwards:) All the best to you two as you finally get to spend some of your time as an engaged couple in the same city!

35 Years | Anniversary Family Photos

I love it when kids give their parents the gift of photos for their wedding anniversary! As a parent, I love having pictures of our family and the boys together, so I think it is perfect. Alaina, the daughter who organized it, is a colleague of Gary's (and me too, when I worked there!). We were supposed to have this session a few weeks ago but it rained. Hard. Fortunately the second date we booked was perfect! Here are some pictures of our time together in Fort Langley.

Alaina, it was so nice to meet your family! You are all so photogenic with your gorgeous smiles. Happy 35th anniversary to Rita and Ed!

Family Reunion |Extended Family Session

These photos were taken during a family reunion that took place in Abbotsford. They hadn't been together in years so it was something they wanted documented in photos. Susan contacted me back in January about doing an extended family session and the dates that worked for them worked perfectly for me too! This group of 10 adults and 14 kids probably has the largest amount of kids that I've photographed at one time. Did I mention that there are 3 sets of twins in there?! Pretty cool!

This took place in the yard of one of the couples, how perfect! A barn? Big grass field? Beautiful fence? Vintage bike? Awesome. I think we got quite the variety in the time that we had together and fortunately the weather behaved or all of these photos would have been indoors. Photographing a large group like this can be tricky but everyone did such a good job and we were able to get them all in just over an hour. Good job, family!

Megan & Patrick | South Surrey Wedding Photos

What a beautiful day! Megan and Patrick were such an easy going bride and groom. Up for anything, happy with everything:) We didn't have an engagement session together, so it always takes a minute or two to figure out how they are together as a couple. Right away we realized how easy it would be as they were just super comfortable in front of the camera and with each other.

I met with Megan at the ID Salon in Fort Langley. The salon owner, Beeuwke, is actually the one that recommended us as she had done one of our brides, Rachael's, hair last year. Megan got all prettied up and then we went to the Chateau Cargill for the rest of the getting ready pictures with her bridesmaids.

{Megan was a little nervous, and really, what bride isn't?! Megan, you looked beautiful! They were able to have an outdoor ceremony (which I love!). Beautiful, n'est pas?

{We did the family photos right outside the Chateau Cargill which is such a pretty location. Then, it was off to Stewart Farms and Crescent Beach.}

{I don't know if it's the weather, or the couple, or the pink, but I just feel like so many of the photos below scream `Romance!!'.}

{Then it was down to Crescent Beach for a few photos. We stopped at the railroad tracks for 5 minutes and I'm glad we did!}

{The clouds in the sky were perfect and because it was cloudy, there were fewer people at the beach:)}

{Editing these pictures just made me want to eat cupcakes. Gary said they tasted great:)}

Congratulations Patrick and Megan! We had a great time hanging out with you two and your wedding party! You were so easy to photograph and had no problem kissing once or twice or a hundred times:) All the best to you in the years to come!
