Bear Creek Gardens | Extended Family Session

Bear Creek Gardens is a great place for summer family sessions as there is ample shade, beautiful gardens and then a fabulous playground for the kiddos to play at afterwards!  I met Kelsey (youngest daughter in the family) years ago through the wonderful world of blogging and facebook:)  She was a bridesmaid in Sara and Dan's wedding back in 2010 when her oldest daughter, Addison, was still in utero.  Being that they were visiting family for a couple of weeks this summer, an extended family session was a great idea!  Every grandparent loves an extended family session :)

I have two more extended family sessions this August and then I am actually no longer doing them.  If you are interested in one, I can recommend several photographers for you!  As a photographer, it's definitely ideal to narrow your niche and this is one area that I struggle to be creative with:)   I love meeting so many people and seeing the family dynamics but it's tricky to get all the combo's down while organizing and keeping kids interested!  It's like trying to squeeze 4 family sessions into one which really takes away from flexibility and candidness!

However, back to the session here...let's see if you can guess which adult sibling is the comedian in the family:)

It was great to meet you all!  Kiddos, you all did so well!! Parents, not bad either:)

Brielle Turns Two | Tea Party Session

The cuteness of this session was in overload!! I love doing something a little different and throw in a creative set up, a sweet and adorable little two year old, and I'm SOOOOO happy!!  Last year I did a family session for Crystal and Jeremy when Brielle turned one.  This year, they wanted to do a sweet little tea party for Brielle on her 2nd birthday and I think it worked out so well.

Baby Grace | Newborn Photos

Meet my newest niece, Grace!  She was born on July 24th, just before we were loading a plane back from Thailand.  I'm sad to have missed her amazing birth (amazing meaning fast and Trish pulled/guided her out herself with the assistance of a midwife) but am glad to have a beautiful baby girl to get to know.  She was born at 7lbs 7oz and looks a whole lot like her big sister Hannah.  

Trish just wanted a few newborn photos of her and a couple with momma.  It was so easy!  Grace came sleeping and left sleeping, wow. I've never seen such a laid back baby.  However, I know she's given Trish some rough nights so she's not always easy:) 

Congratulations Trish and Steve on your beautiful baby girl!  

{I picked up three of these cotton scarves/blankets like the pink one below from Thailand while I was there, I like the way they look!  Just $1 each too:)}

We're Back!

Gary and I (and our three kiddos!), just came back from our huge summer trip!  We took the month of July off and went to the Philippines to visit our friends and then also to Thailand. It was a great (and exhausting) time and now we are just trying to recover from jet lag, fatigue and some food poisoning:)  

Looking forward to all of our August sessions starting with my newest little niece born just a few days ago!

Simple Things Patterns| Blossom Hat

My friend  Kim is a local designer and creates some ADORABLE patterns that are available on her Simple Things website.  I am not gifted in the sewing department but I can take pictures of her beautiful creations!  Here is Nya modeling one of her latest patterns; The Blossom Hat.  We'll be taking this beautiful reversible hat on our summer holidays for sure...check her out on facebook too!

Baby Asher | Newborn Studio Session

You might remember Matt and Carolyn's mini session in October when they announced that Noah was going to be a big brother!  Well, here is the little brother, Asher.  He's so cute and totally reminds me of big brother Noah when he was little!   Noah had his newborn photos done in their home and they wanted something different for Asher so we did some in studio.

Lyra, Logan & Cody | Fort Langley Family Photos

Wow, looking back, I saw that I have photographed this beautiful family every year, in June, since 2009! Five times!  I love this tradition.  Lyra had just turned one for their first family session and look at her now...

  

Pam and Nolan, it is always good to see you and catch up a bit while the kids keep us all busy.  You have a beautiful family and I'm very honoured that you have continued to ask us to take your family photos!  

We met up at Fort Langley at 8:30 am (this is a very reasonable time when you have three young kids like we both do!).  Nolan's parents came along which was awesome for some extended family photos AND they could also help watch the kids while I got some photos of Nolan and Pam. Perfecto!
