Alex & Alison | Deer Lake Wedding Photos

I was so happy to be part of Alison and Alex's wedding day. They are a super easy going couple and I knew them both beforehand (and the whole wedding party too!). I taught them both years ago and have run into them at a wedding or two in the past few years:)

The day started out with a whole lot of rain and so our plans to do photos at Queen Elizabeth Park quickly changed to Deer Lake Park. However, during the photos, the rain held off and we were all so thankful!

A big thanks again to Frances of Frances Eden Creative for second shooting the portraits and ceremony with Gary.

I met the girls at Alison's parents place in the morning. The bathroom was abuzz with activity as there were seven girls in there doing each other's hair and getting ready!

{Alison had a gift for everyone in her family. So thoughtful and personal. Apparently her little brother really likes `Gushers':)}

{The guys then arrived so that Alex and Alison could have their `First Look' as we were doing their photos before the ceremony. I love how the guys always struggle with their suits/ties/boutonnieres etc:)}

{After the `First Look' they had the rest of the their portraits done but I'll save that for after the ceremony...}

{The ceremony was at New Westminster CRC, just like the wedding before this one. What bride doesn't want a fudgesicle before walking down the aisle?!}

{There were fudgesicles and creamsicles for all the guests as they waited in the receiving line. So yummy!}
{And here are the photos taken at Deer Lake Park...}

{I can't tell you how many photos there were of the guys being hilarious/silly/ridiculous but I will tell you that there are a lot!}

{And then it was off the reception at the gorgeous Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club}

{The bridesmaids had a pretty cool compilation of songs which made for some great entertainment. If you're wondering about the photos above, Alison is afraid of bugs:)}

What an awesome day!! Congratulations Alison and Alex! Alex thank you for entertaining me while editing all those photos, I never knew what to expect from you in each one:) Thank you for having us be part of your day and all the best to you as husband and wife!

Brittany & Jordan | Lynn Canyon Engagement Session

I love, love, love having sessions with past students of mine! I taught Brittany science way back in the day and now she's doing her Masters in Prosthetics. I feel old, but wow, that's pretty cool! Gary and I are so thankful to be part of such a wonderful school community where we had/have the opportunity to get to know so many amazing students. Brittany and Jordan have been dating for two years and are getting married at the end of THIS month which we are really looking forward to.

They really love nature and so Lynn Canyon was a great place to meet up. I think it is so beautiful there and although I'm scared of heights, I can make it across the bridge okay:) The lighting is pretty tricky which makes it challenging (which is fun!) for me.

Here are some photos of the beautiful couple!!

Aren't they so cute?! Congratulations Brittany and Jordan and we'll see you in a few weeks!!

My Extended Family | A Whole Lot of Babies!

In the past 7 months, all 4 of my sisters (and myself!) have had a baby. Yes, that means all 5 of us were pregnant at the same time. Very, very unusual and very fun. Global TV even did a story on us for the news, it was pretty cool! As soon as the youngest one was born, we took some extended family photos. It was pretty tricky managing 11 kids with 5 of them being 6 months and under. Oh, and add in that we were doing our own extended family photos AND our 2 boys are monkeys AND everyone needed to feed their baby at some point.

It's sad to think that my mom only got to meet Annika, the oldest granddaughter, as my mom passed away just 3 months later (I was 6 months pregnant with Kai). However, we are thankful that we have a whole lot of family to help provide love and support as we are all immersed in this amazing parenting journey.

Enjoy!

{The picture below makes me laugh...check out my boys holding the Chapman sign. That's our reality!}

{My dad and his wife Joanne, aka Nana Jo, with all the `big kids'}
{Ya, there was no way that this picture, below, was going to work at all!}
{Above, my dad with his namesake Jack. We call him Little Jack. Our little Nya's middle name is Greta which was my mom's name. It's funny when we see Jack and `Greta' together:)}

Yay for family:) We are all so incredibly thankful for our kids and for each other.
