Connor & Blake | Family Photos

These family photos were taken on the loop around the north entrance of Campbell Valley Park. Stopping to take a few photos, it takes about an hour...perfect! When you have a couple of energetic kids, it's a lot easier to get them to smile when they are happy running around seeing squirrels, birds and spiders! This loop is special to me for several reasons. It is where I took my first SLR pictures 10 years ago, using Gary's camera. It was when Gary and I were just getting to know each other and it was our first one on one nature walk:) Okay, enough about us, on to this cute family!!
{Connor is just about 3 years old and pretty much ran the whole loop. Blake is about 9 months old and loved crawling around exploring.}
{How cute are they together? They were so nice to each other. I think my boys would've been tackling each other! Maybe in a few more months....}
{Below is pretty much what happened the whole time. Connor was go, go, go. I'm assuming he slept well that night!}
{Some fellow walkers were kind of enough to give Connor some bird seed, how fun! I think I will have to take my kids there. Connor wasn't so sure what he thought once the bird actually landed on his hand.}

{Connor loved the squirrel and asked me to `Cheese it':) Great term for taking a picture of it!}
{They have a great little spot here on the bridge where you can watch the ducks, I'm realizing now how many animals we saw!}
{I love the boys just having fun together!}
{We put the boys in their car seats, with their milk, and quickly took a few shots right next the vehicle...you can't even tell this is the parking lot can you? }
{Brenda and Shane are celebrating 4 years of marriage in a couple of weeks. Happy anniversary, it was great meeting your family!}

Hendrik & Lisa | Wedding Day

You know how each wedding has a different feel? Traditional? Romantic? Vintage? Well, this one had the feeling of fun! Lisa and Hendrik enjoy climbing together so that theme popped up here and there. You know, the centerpieces, the car, the favours etc. You'll see. Here we go!
{Lisa had her sister and her cousin as her bridesmaids. Her sister is actually getting married in just a few weeks!}

{Lisa's mom putting the boutonniere on Hendrik. The flowers were all a little extra special because Lisa's mom is the one that put them together!}

{I love the shot below! Dad is peeking around the corner and looking down the aisle. You can see Lisa's silhouette as she is seconds away from seeing Hendrik.}

{After a few quick shots in front of the stained glass we went to Friendship Park and Queen's Park.}

{All three of the guys are engineers. Interesting technique to try to get Hendrik to the other side of the stream!}

{The rainbow wall is actually the wall of the um, bathroom, and there were a lot of ladies waiting in the line up. They got a lot of cheers while kissing in front of this wall!}
{At one point I had asked the bride and groom to walk holding hands and the groomsmen felt a little left out...}
{I know I already showed you a sneak peek picture of the climbing themed car but I really did love it. I love it when people personalize their big day!}
{Hendrik was all over this playground apparatus and Lisa did a great job getting up there. She almost slid down the fireman pole but alas, we didn't want to tear the dress:)}

{And then, it was off to the reception!}
{In order to get the couple to kiss, you had to ride the tricycle wearing a sombrero:) It worked super well, even when the handlebars fell off!}

{I love seeing girls faces when they catch the bouquet:)}
Hendrik and Lisa, thank you so much for having us photograph your special day. I love it that we knew you two when you were just starting out high school, it's always extra special for us. Blessings to you!

Hendrik & Lisa | Wedding Day Sneak Peek

Hendrik and Lisa's day was a fun one. The climbing theme was evident and their vehicle was my favourite one ever! Hendrik's sisters decorated it with magnetic climbing holds, various ropes, and caribeaners. The picture where he is kissing her while on a pole? He climbed up the pole to get there! So, just a little sneak peek for you while I work away on the rest of them...

Alyssa, Lexi and Danae | Family Photos

I love it when families can have their sessions in fabulous yards like this one! We met at grandma and grandpa's house and just wandered from place to place getting some photo of the three beautiful sisters, their mom and dad, and even some of grandpa and grandpa. They had two great barns, flowering gardens and apple trees. I think the apple tree shots might be my favourite.
First off, sisters Lexi and Alyssa. These two spent a lot of time running around and what a great place to do that!
{Big sisters Alyssa (4) and Lexi (2.5) did fabulously with baby sister Danae (8 months)}
{Then, off to the apple trees. I love how it adds some more colour to the photo!}
{Sisters!}

{I got some pictures of each kid with mom and dad, here are just a few...}
{Danae wanting to walk!}
{Had to get grandma and grandpa in a few shots!}

{Okay, the window in the barn might be my second favourite spot there.}

{Usually I take about 500 pictures in a one hour session. In this one, it was over 700. I think that's what happens when you have a little one in the group:) Always trying to get the baby looking at the camera:)}
{All the girls did a fabulous job and enjoyed just playing outside.}

Thank you for having me capture some photos of your family! It was great being at a new location and I enjoyed meeting you. Enjoy!

Makayla's Cupcake Smash | First Birthday

I met this lovely family when they had a session on Father's Day. Mom, Chelsea, had asked about doing a cake smash for Makayla's first birthday and I said I would LOVE to! I've never done one and it was a lot of fun. I am now kind of sad that I never did it with my own boys. I think I will be letting my son have one for his second birthday:) It was just a mini session (less than half an hour) and Makayla did a fabulous job eating her cake like a lady! Just think of all the fun things you could add as variations...bubbles, balloons, birthday hats...the possibilities are endless!! There were a ton of pictures but I will just show you a few of them here.
{Cutest shoes and tutu!! Now, for the actual (Cup)Cake Smash. I'll tell ya, I sure was hungry editing these photos!}

{Makayla needed a little help from mom and dad to actually do more than just dip her finger in the top. She was so sweet:) I love the little purple icing footprints in the last picture. She kept trying to run off of the background and no one really wanted to grab her because she was covered in icing! Thank you for suggesting the Cake Smash, it was a lot of fun and something I may need to do more of!}

Kim & Steve Sitting In A Tree | Engagement Session

Kim and Steve met while doing training for the military as they started just weeks apart. They started dating long distance over a year ago, are now engaged, and planning on a December wedding! They love what they do and have adventurous spirits. Here are some pictures from our time together....
{I'm thinking Steve's best smile is when Kim kissed him on the neck, we'll have to remember that for the big day!}

{Kim and Steve sitting in a tree....K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!!}
{They didn't really want any pictures in the field, and understandably so, when you've crawled through a field or two! Kim wanted bridges, water, and a red building so Campbell Valley worked well.}

{Congratulations you two! Hope the long distance wedding planning goes well for you and we'll see you in just a few months!}
